Our Services

You can count on Local Sash Windows to not only meet, but exceed all your needs and requests. Learn more about the services we provide below, and let us know if you’d like to learn more about a specific offering.

Overhaul & Draught Proofing

Our service entails a general overhaul of the sashes (making sure both sashes are aligned and weighted properly, as well as running smoothly). New parting and staff beads, which are loaded with a white weatherproof pile. As well as the beads, weatherproof pile, goes in the top of the top sash and meeting rail. All cords are changed, along with all furniture, which are replaced with a Brighton Fastener and lifts (we offer the choice of polished brass or polished chrome). Minor repairs are included in this. We finish off by replacing any lost or damaged putty.

Complete Sash Replacement

This product includes, both either complete single glazed sashes or double glazed sashes to match existing. Sashes will be finished with a white gloss, New parting and staff beads, which are loaded with a white weatherproof pile. As well as the beads, weatherproof pile, goes in the top of the top sash and meeting rail. All cords are changed and re-weighted to run smoothly whilst sitting correctly. Windows are fitted with Brighton Fastener and lifts (we offer the choice of polished brass or polished chrome). To finish off the existing box is fully decorated to a gloss finish.

Upgrade Single Glazing to Double Glazing
into Existing Sashes

Local Sash Windows  now offer to

Upgrade Single Glazing to Double Glazing into Existing Sashes.

This entails the removal of the single glazed glass, the sashes will be rebated to allow for the double glazed unit. All windows will be recorded and re weighted to allow for the extra weight. Conservation joints will be Resined to strengthen up the joints. Glass will be finished with a putty finish and then rebuilt. This is an effective way to prevent heat loss and noise. This is not possible for every sash window

Sash Repairs

Local Sash Windows offer you a way of keeping your existing windows and not having to replace them. In many cases a permanent repair is possible instead of complete replacement. We achieve this by cutting out and replacing all rotten timber and treating the affected areas. We finish by using a resin product from repair care international which is much more durable and flexible than normal wood filler.
Resin repairs are a very effective way of repairing windows and doors so that you do not need to replace the originals.

Local Sash Windows offer all aspects of Glazing. Single Glazed, Double Glazed, Slim Line Units, Laminate, Toughened and Patterned.

Local Sash Windows also offer a decoration service, where all windows and boxes/frames will be scraped, sanded and filled. All will then be primed, undercoated, and receive a top coat of gloss.

Made from strong light weight aluminium, it is a slim and and discreet, cost effective method of insulating & sound proofing your windows. By fitting our Secondary Glazing you could save around 10% on your heating bills. The Energy Saving Trust states that it is an ‘ideal solution if you are unable to replace your existing windows with double glazing’
